Day 39 - London

Sunday morning, and what better way to spend our last rainy London day, than a visit to the National Gallery. All the big names are there. Degas, Van Gogh, Monet, Constable, Turner and three of the four ninja turtles! I could spend hours and hours here. A beautiful building filled with so much amazing art.

After the Gallery, we took the opportunity to wander through Trafalger Square without a protest taking place. We walked down across Charing Cross and onto Whitehall, the seat of British government. We walked past the old Scotland Yard, Cabinet War Rooms,  Downing Street and The Cenotaph. We wandered past the Palace of Westminster and a nice close view of 'the tower formally known as Big Ben'. We walked across Westminster Bridge and over to the London Dungeon. The kids loved the dungeon. It's an interactive showcase of some of London's grizzliest events and denizens.

After surviving the horrors of the London Dungeon, it was time for a final wander along Southbank and of course, a Snog. We made our home for the final night of our overseas odyssey, enjoying some wonderful Italian food at Olivelli at The Cut .
