We had a nice lazy morning in our Florence apartment before heading to the train station for our trip to Venice. The train ride was our first on a fast train, speeding along through Italy at 290kms!
We arrived in Venice around 1pm and after the initial wonderment of a city without cars (or roads), we decided to go for a bit of a wander through the maze-like streets. Zoe and I are were on the hunt for a painting we both love, that resides at the Church of San Travaso in the Dorsoduro neighbourhood. St. Chrysogonus on Horseback was painted by Michele Giambono in 1444 and it was like a treasure hunt to track it down and pay it a visit.
Mission accomplished, we headed back through the streets of Venice to our apartment to rest up for a big day of sightseeing.
