Monday, in Florence, seems to be a day that all the major attractions have a day off, so who are we to argue? We spent most of the day just lying around in our apartment. We went for a bit of a walk and had a look at San Lorenzo Basilica, the family church of the Medici. We just walked around for a bit taking in the fantastic architecture and sights of Florence.
Piazzale Michelangelo is one of the best places to capture the Florentine skyline. Set at the foot of an amazing park and high on a hill on the other side of the Arno River, it's the perfect place for those postcard shots.
The rigours of travelling were starting to take their toll on us, so we had an early night to go with our late morning start to prepare for a full day of action the next day.
