First stop in Firenze was the Uffizi Gallery. Like so many of the popular tourist spots, it was crowded and filled with rude people. It was a little sad to see Botticelli's 'Birth of Venus' in a darkened room behind plexiglass. You see people! This is why we can't have nice things!
The kids enjoyed the Uffizi and Che insisted on having Michelle take his photo in front of a nude statue, so that he could show his friends.
One of the coolest things about the Uffizi, is the many sculptures that line the side of the building outside. Many of the giants Florence are there and they make a great adornment to the gallery.
The Ponte Vecchio is probably one of the world's most famous bridges. We took a walk up and looked at replacement wedding rings for me, but couldn't find one to my liking...the search continues. Went out later in the day and at night to snap some shots of this very photogenic landmark.
We went out pizza and pasta and a lovely restaurant right next to the Duomo. It looks magical by night, so I couldn't resist snapping away. We found a great carousel in Piazza della Repubblica, so the kids did a bit of riding!
