We had a bit of a storm in Canberra this evening and it past just in time to see some amazing colours just as the sun was going down. Photo never does it justice, but it was pretty amazing.
Canberra Capitals Co-Captain and all-around champion, Jess Bibby, poured in 24 points tonight against the Adelaide Lightning in Canberra. In doing so, she reached the amazing milestone of 4,000 points in the WNBL. Jess becomes only the 7th player in WNBL history to reach this lofty total. Not bad for someone who after injuring her back in 2001, was told that she would never play basketball again.
Love ya Bibs!
It's a well known fact that politicians and reporters can sometimes rub each other the wrong way. In a battle worthy of the Colosseum, the ActewAGL All-Stars took on the Canberra Media All-Stars at half time at the Canberra Capitals basketball game this afternoon. They were raising money for Lifeline, to the tune of $50 per basket!
Jon Tuxworth, from the Canberra Times, sits next to me on the media bench at most Capitals games, but this week, it was his turn to take the court. I managed to snap this great series of shots of @Tuxy81 lining up ACT Deputy Chief Minister, Andrew Barr for a bit of a nudge under the basket.
What happens on the court, stays on the court! Great work guys!
Had a dream day today, taking photos of the Opals and Boomers Basketball teams playing against New Zealand, here in Canberra.
After 3 days at Cradle Mountain, we traveled east to the coast and the Freycinet Peninsula. Amazing mountainous rock formations and beautiful coastline. Wineglass Bay is spectacular and the sunsets over Coles Bay are simply brilliant.
